The Classical Voice Section at Royal South Street is a celebration of the oldest instrument, and the one we are all born with; the voice. Classical Voice (as distinct from the contemporary/jazz/pop voice) encompasses a wide range of genres including sacred music, ballads, folk songs, oratorio, art song and lieder to name but a few. The Classical Vocal section gives singers the opportunity to explore and perform songs from many of these genres. The prestigious Herald Sun Aria has launched the successful national and international careers of many Opera Singers since it began 92 years ago.
