Carolyn Bennett – Volunteer and Vocal Discipline Chair
My very long history with South Street spans the length of (almost) my entire life.
I first competed at South Street as a young girl in Calisthenics for 10 years, then as a teenager in piano (for one very unremarkable year) and then in vocals for many successful years after that.
I began teaching singing in 1999 and since then, have seen countless students through the highs and lows of the RSSS vocal competition, becoming vocal chair in 2008, taking over from Lloyd Harvey.
Now, I find myself in the wonderful position of working alongside Louise and Judy-Ann in the office four days a week.
When I’m not working at RSSS, and when I’m not teaching singing, I can often be found running around after my two wonderful girls, Lara and Emma. My husband Stewart Greedy is a local vet, and we both met through local theatre shows (of which we have been involved in MANY as either onstage performers, musicians, or choral directors). I love yoga, walking, cooking, and reading (and catching up with my book club girls). I have two very snuggly cats and a very overgrown garden which I love pottering around in when there are more than 24 hours in the day.
