I suppose its true to say that most of us who have grown up in Ballarat have had some association with RSSS and Her Majesty’s Theatre, myself being one of these such people.

I have many fond memories of dancing on stage as part of a local ballet school and performing in BLOC productions, dancing and trying to make out I was singing! (not my strong point).

A career on stage was not for me but I have watched and supported both my children in their own endeavors over the years – ballet, acting & Ballroom dance to name a few.  I have also 2 grandchildren who love music, play instruments and perform in school productions.

My own career in health spanned greater than 30yrs but I have since stepped aside to continue my love of travel.  Having travelled most of Australia in our caravan we tend to spend more time following the sun these days mainly on the east coast, but I do throw in a bit of overseas travel at least once a year -Japan being most recent .

Volunteering at RSSS was always on my radar and after finally joining up this year, I wished I had done it sooner.  I have met some wonderful people and watched & encouraged a whole new generation of budding performers. What a rewarding experience it is.

Thanks for the opportunity RSSS
