What an incredible 2025 Season Launch we had last night!
Our twilight event saw stunning performances from current and past competitors (Chloe Taylor, William Hinde, Chloe McMillin, Hattie Larkins, Hayley Every and Jason Wasley), a touching Welcome to Country by Wadawurrung Traditional Owner, Ash Skinner, delicious food and wine from Michael Unwin Wines and Beechworth Bakery, beautiful flowers from Reus Flower Co, messages from our Board, staff and supporters, and great company from all in attendance!
We launched our exciting Key to Music fundraising campaign, including a surprise announcement from Bernie Capicchiano that Schimmel Pianos and Bernie’s Music Land were upgrading our chosen new grand piano to a K195 Konzert Grand….this will mean the Royal South Street Society will soon be the proud owners and custodians of one of the Top Class Grand Pianos in the whole of Australia, housed at our beautiful partner venue, the Ballarat Mechanics Institute – for our performers, and for our wider music community! What a coup for Ballarat and an amazing draw card for musicians far and wide.
We would like to thank the fabulous Will Munro from Ray White Real Estate, for conducting a hot auction of the highly prized middle C key! Following some heated bidding, the middle C key was successfully sold on the night! Kickstarting wonderful community interest!
We now invite the wider Ballarat community to be part of the legacy that uplifts the stars of tomorrow for years to come. Not only will this piano benefit the competitors of the Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod, but the entire Ballarat music community.
