What a wonderful way to bring our 2026 Ballarat Eisteddfod season to a close!

On Sunday 25 October 2026, Her Majesty’s Theatre came alive with an incredible celebration of talent, creativity and community at our 2026 Countpro Showcase.

Bringing together outstanding performers from across our many disciplines, the Showcase was a fantastic reminder of just how much talent crosses the Royal South Street stage each year.

From breathtaking ballet and energetic hip hop to beautiful vocal and piano performances, spectacular troupe dancing, calisthenics, debating and even a rock band, the evening really did have something for everyone!

One of the highlights was welcoming Hartley Trusler, fresh from winning the prestigious 2026 Herald Sun Aria, alongside our youngest performers, including 10-year-old piano sensation Austin Zheng. We also enjoyed wonderful performances from our talented dancers, choirs, musicians and calisthenics teams, including Sovereign Calisthenic College’s spectacular Seize the Day.

The evening was also a chance to celebrate the incredible diversity of our Eisteddfod and the opportunities it provides for performers of all ages to develop their skills, build confidence and shine on stage.

And of course, behind every great show is an equally great team!

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped bring the evening together, from backstage preparations and stage management to front of house, ushering and everything in between. As with any live production, there were a few unexpected challenges along the way, but our team rose to the occasion with their usual dedication, flexibility and good humour!

Special thanks also to our Showcase sponsor Countpro, our performers, teachers, families, production team and everyone who contributed to making the evening possible.

And a very special thank you to David Barker, who generously donated his time and photographic talents to capture some wonderful memories of the evening.

The Countpro Showcase was more than just a concert. It was a celebration of everything Royal South Street stands for – performance, opportunity, community and the joy of the performing arts.

What a fitting finale to an extraordinary 2026 season!

Bring on 2027! 🎭
