The Royal status of South Street was granted in 1962 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II for service to the community, creating the Royal South Street Society.

Today we acknowledge the coronation of King Charles III and the Crown’s continuing support of the arts – the recognition of the importance of the arts as demonstrated by the inclusion of stunning music in the coronation.

The coronation also demonstrates an appreciation of the importance of service- of our volunteers, patrons, performers, supporters and board members and the importance of inclusion, respect and of evolving in an ever changing world.
