Hayley has been competing in the Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod since about the age of 10.

Initially Hayley competed with the Ballarat Centre of Music and Dance in both Choir and Vocal competitions.

Since starting at Loreto College, Hayley has been receiving private drama lessons from the incredible Mika Wallace, who has encouraged Hayley to compete in a number of the Speech and Drama sections.

Hayley’s success in Drama at the Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod and in particular the W S Hooper Memorial Prize, has really helped improve her confidence and sense of self.

This has given her the strength to enter competitions such as Class Clowns, with her own standup comedy routine.

Hayley now can present to groups, participate in unfamiliar activities, and has the confidence to speak out when required.

Outside of school, Hayley’s confidence has also meant that she has taken more opportunities and made some lifelong friends with people with similar interests.

Now, in Year 11, Hayley’s love of the performing arts continues to grow, as she continues to perform, take on backstage opportunities (including Stage Manager) and further study of Theatre as a VCE subject.

In the last year, Hayley has performed in number of plays, including ‘An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe ‘ and ‘Girl Asleep’.  Hayley was also the Narrator and Wombat at the Magic Pudding performance at Cresfest.

Outside of the Royal South Street Society Eisteddfod and school, Hayley loves to be involved in all things theatre, including both performing and backstage.  Hayley has been so fortunate to have the opportunity to work on some incredible BLOC, Lyric and BCMA productions. Due to her love of backstage, Hayley is also currently studying the Backstage Industry Technology training course at the BCMA.

Hayley also enjoys travelling, last year Hayley went to Los Angeles, and had the opportunity to hold a real Oscar Award.

This year Hayley will be travelling to the Gold Coast to take part in a New York Film Academy class to learn more about Film.
