In 2025, Oscar won the prestigious ‘Celebrating Chopin’ Maragaret Schofield OAM Memorial Prize
Oscar Kwan is a current Master of Music (Performance) student specializing in piano performance research at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music studying with Andrea Lam and Jerry Wong. He also completed his Graduate Diploma in Music at the MCM with internationally renowned pianist Caroline Almonte. He has been invited to perform in the Melba Hall Lunch Hour Concert Series twice. He has also performed in the Open Day at Grainger Museum in 2024. He was awarded the second prize (Intermediate Group) in Cremona International Music Festival hosted in Italy in 2013. He also performed the first movement of Mozart Piano Concerto No. 15 in B-flat major, KV. 450 with the Macao Orchestra in 2011 and successfully completed his first solo recital in the same year at the age of twelve. His key interest areas include Spanish music from Granados and French music from Spanish composer Mompou, also piano dance music such as Polonaises from Chopin.
